BPG: Going Green

FREE 3 Hr CE

Students will learn what it means to “go Green” and why these building practices are becoming popular in Georgia. There will be discussion of different designations for energy efficient homes, LEEDS designation in commercial and residential real estate. Agents will learn about new building techniques on new construction for a more energy efficient / environmentally friendly home. Agents will learn about site selection, finding a builder, and more. Agents will be pointed to online tools for determining how their home stacks up against similar homes, and the greatest opportunities for improvement. Energy audits vs. inspections, new green building products, energy efficient appliances, how to understand energy star rating systems will be discussed. Students will be provided a home energy checklist they can use to find ways to lower their personal energy profile.
